I sincerely doubt the DoA server with a whopping 200 players would waste their time doing this. I remember them announcing the moving of server to Amsterdam. What was concerning is a GM was spawning Naxx Bosses before the server went down which there is a screencap regarding the incident.

If it was truly Raven, those morons aren't even gonna get majority of Octo people, considering alot already fell off when Turtle died where we got a sub-4k population. If Raven truly is DDoS'ing then they are just assmad suck server that sucks to suck. What can I say?

It's back down, some dude was claiming GabGab a ''Hacker Group'' is harassing servers but again I don't know or have evidence. Server was back up running smooth, this has happened during Epoch with the devs available and Turtle before. So yeah we just treat it as annoyance at this point. They need to go touch grass like any of us smh

Very clearly is a DDoS, and I think Ravencraft is a prime suspect, but ofc we have no evidence.

I consider it completely possible that Blizzard themselves is behind both Ravencraft and these DDoS attacks, and yes it would absolutely make sense, both if I'm right or if Ravencraft is genuine, for them to do it.
Since they are using the twow build, it's fair to assume that at least some player dissatisfied with serverdowns like these consider switching.

Blizzard btw got hold of the TWoW build following the lawsuit; you should read the fine print, its basically their property now. So if they figured out that theres a growing population of players who just dont want to play on Blizzards servers anymore, why shouldnt they just take this free build and set up a small server and call it Ravencraft, to cash in in the donation business? Ofc its not a big moneymaker, but it sucks pop from genuine private servers and they can do with it whatever they want, whenever they want - make it as bad as they please to hope dragging people into official again, or just making basically free profit from it, even if its not much.
And since they can't really attract more people than octo because they have nothing of their own to offer; they DDoS octo to make people leave...

Maybe my tinfoil hat sits too tight, but imo its a nobrainer, for the way Blizzard has been conducting business in the last decade.

Well, at least the forums are seeing a bit more activity than usual, which is nice.

So I don't know about any of these other servers and who might be doing DDoS attacks, but I am hoping the server gets back online, and that it won't be too much of an inconvenience. This seems to be the most stable server out of them all, it sounds like.

Just wish I could get my girlfriend to play with me, or that some of the people I met on TWoW were playing here too...

One thing I'm not a big fan of though? The Roleplay scene is... Barren. And mostly unpleasant with people who seem to have *other* desires as opposed to going on some classic Warcraft adventures.
