Donation shop and its changes

Well, before everything else thanks for updating it.
But... well. The situation with one of the mounts left a rather unpleasant aftertaste.
We are talking about a scarlet charger, of course.
I fully support decision to put it in actual in game use and make it accessible to all players through gameplay... even if I'm not personally a fan of the 0.01% drops, and I hope you can come up with a decent, comprehensive, and interesting way to obtain it.
But I think this, like any other changes in the store, should be announced in advance.
I personally planned to buy this horse next week right after payday and... got a rather unpleasant surprise.

If I known about its removal from the store in advance, I would have adjusted my plans, but... that's just the way it turned out.
What's the suggestion?
1) Announce such changes in advance (say, a week in advance)
2) If possible, bring the horse back on sale for a short period so that people who had plans for it can buy it before it's permanently removed from the store.

Personally I've always disliked FOMO mounts but I did earn the charger the hard way on T-WoW.

If it's to be reintroduced to the game rather than it being an obscenely low droprate I'd prefer a token system where events like the altaholic event gives you a token you can spend at a vendor to purchase stuff like the Charger, so it's not a FOMO thing and it means multiple events can lead to you getting a chance at the reward, or give people a choice of what reward they want for the events. Adding low-level shop items or currency to the vendor would also mean you could get value for the event regardless of if you like the event's promoted reward or not.

I don't know if bind-on-account settings exist on OctoWoW but that would be beneficial for allowing players to earn mounts doing something like the altaholic event and then putting those mounts onto the characters of their choice, like if you're a Scarlet RPer but were already lvl 60 when the event happened so you got it on an alt instead.

Either way, crazy low drop rates aren't my cup of tea and I think that should be spared for very few mounts so 'ultrarares' don't themselves become a common occurrence.

My stance is that either way they go about it someone would be upset. If they do as you suggest I can promise you there would be at least a dozen people spamming the forums and the Discord and just making noise about how they announced it strictly to increase donation sales before they remove it. They'd accuse Octo of utilizing FOMO to sell cosmetics. It would be a bad look honestly.

The way they chose to handle it in my opinion is probably the best way. Yes some people such as yourself will be upset and I'm not dismissing that, I do understand, but at least this way they can't be accused of trying to do sneaky underhanded shit to make money.

Speaking of FOMO mounts, is there Gorilla mount possible to gain within the game? The one that was given to players in seasonal event when they had to reach level 60 within 2 weeks or something?
The devil is in the detail.

You know, calling openness and transparency regarding changes in the game, even if it concerns donations, manipulative behavior is... Well.
There will always be disgruntled people, there will always be conspiracy theorists, there will always be "that guy" who will find something to complain about.
You need to look at things not from the perspective of the offended, but from the perspective of the average player and their interests.
And btw. FOMO, as an argument, can also be applied from the point of view that by not announcing a change in the store, they push people to buy everything that is available right now. So... yea.
