But the issue was not with the server. It was functioning how it is supposed to, I.e. taking requests and responding. This was exploited. You're essentially crying that the local McDonalds was robbed at gun point and thus was closed so you need free food for you inconvenience because you really wanted chicken nuggies that day. I don't think you understand remotely how complex such things are. Blizzard servers have been taken down by similar attacks and they are have a multi-billion dollar fortune backing them. This is not a case of "oh we forgot to press the make our server immune to all attacks button".Zeryl wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2026 8:16 am "We can't get proper Cloudflare DDoS protection in place because of subpoenas, but after the attack we've now implemented the proper defense."
Why not before when you knew you're lacking it and it's a common thing...

I don't think you understand the concept of a donation. It entitles you to nothing outside of the tokens that are promised for it. No matter what happens.Zeryl wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2026 8:16 am I think this warrants a show of goodwill in form of tokens to make up for lost time, trust and time restricted community events - weekend evenings are valuable for working (paying) folks.

This isnt a mobile game rofl. You cant be serious and must be trolling.Zvyrhol wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2026 6:10 pm Hello.
I think it would be fair move to give everyone free Donation Tokens due to server's instability that occured today. Players deserve compensation.
You sound like the kind of person who gets mad when a place closes down due to a burst pipe and want a 75% discount because you couldn't get in on that day.Zeryl wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2026 8:16 am They say they value our time and dedication to their server, so they do owe us when the server is unstable and unplayable for hours as people keep trying to log back in.

TLDR. I think giving tokens for failed evening is good for their image and an investment now that community needs to grow and people are still deciding where to play.
Few people care whether the server is unstable because of devs or DDoS - the server was down, they couldn't play when they wanted to and might swap to other stable server or game.Wubc wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2026 9:36 am

You had one evening during which you had to not sit at your computer and play one specific game because the people doing the work of providing it for you and asking nothing in return were under a malicious attack. I find it incredibly greedy and selfish to even fathom you should receive compensation for this. Hell, I don't for a second think any of this is done in good faith but rather opportunistically for personal gain from an unfortunate situation.
