D'Dossy bug

Hello,

I received the new D'Dossy companion item in my mailbox today. I used the item, the item disappeared (as expected) and the game did the "learned new spell" effect. However, D'Dossy did not appear in the list of my companions. There was also no chat message that I have learned a new spell, as there usually is in such situations (I think).

I read on Discord that this could be because my game was not updated. So I started the launcher, updated the launcher, updated the game and logged back in. However, I still didn't see D'Dossy in my spellbook.

Then I read on forums that to get the pet I should talk to Ozzy. So I gave that a try. I went to Northshire Valley, talked to Ozzy and received another D'Dossy companion item. But when I try to use this item, I get the message "You already know this companion.".

Now I have the D'Dossy item from Ozzy in my inventory but I cannot use the item because the game thinks I already have D'Dossy as a companion. However, I don't see D'Dossy anywhere in my spellbook. It probably got bugged because I previously used the D'Dossy companion item which I got in my mailbox while my game was not updated.

I am now on game version 1.18.1 (7272), according to the launcher. I also tried deleting WDB and with no addons.

I didnt test things yet but i used launcher to start "learned" dossy and also isnt in my companion log (i did relog and still isnt there)

If you don't see the pet, and see others pets as a small cube, that means your client doesn't have the current game model and cant show it. (Cant show something that isnt there)

Try the following to fix it
- Update your game via the launcher (you'd surprised how many people never update or forget)
- If the launcher doesn't show an update, verify game files and delete WDB
- If both above didn't work, delete Patch-5.mpq and download it again via the launcher
(in the data folder of the OctoWoW install)

This should work for probably for 99% of the people most likely.

Thanks, but deleting patch-5.mpq and downloading it again did not help.

Then I read this comment https://octowow.st/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1852#p9825 and I noticed that I had patch-A.mpq in the data folder. I deleted patch-A.mpq and that fixed the issue. I can now see D'Dossy in my spellbook and I can summon it.
