2 week ban for what?

The only thing I can think is insulting a player. I never got confirmation of what the ban was actually for, but since I appealed and the ban was reduced to one week, I assume that’s what it was.

Even though it was reduced, a one-week ban still feels completely unreasonable to me. I can understand a mute for a period of time, but a week-long ban seems excessive for what happened.

What happened was that I was running a dungeon with this player. He specifically asked whether anyone else needed the item he wanted. Shortly after we killed the boss and the item didn’t drop, he left the dungeon without saying anything.

I suspected that was why he left, so I whispered him and asked why. We had a short conversation about it in whispers, I got frustrated and told him “fuck you”, and then I ignored him.

I understand that what I said is against the rules, and I regret saying it. I’m not trying to justify the insult, but I do think the context and the fact that this was a single private message should be taken into consideration.

Could someone please look into this and explain why a one-week ban is considered appropriate for this situation?

You have run the circuit of GM's and I have looked into every instance and I feel they were very lenient with you behavior. That is just this month on this account. You have mutes and bans going back in July.

You were using blue GM chat in World, impersonated GM's, faked yellow server broadcasts trying to trick players that the server was about to restart, and have been repeatedly documented griefing players out in the world through various means.

You continue to switch accounts to bypass mutes/bans. One of these new accounts of yours was muted by 112 unique players shortly after creation.

You will not be unbanned.

P.S. If anyone has talked with or seen the character Wompwomp, that is the same operator here despite their claims in game.

I looked into it a bit and the ban was this severe because of a prior offence it looks like, but that was long enough ago and this is minor enough I agree it is a bit on the strict side. I've reduced it to 1.5 day ban time served so you should be able to log in now. Try to keep the outbursts to yourself when you can

I'm still trying to understand where the line is drawn. Is it specifically the swear word? If someone I believe treated me or the group unfairly, am I allowed to tell them what I think about their behavior as long as I don't use insults or swear words?

To me this felt like a social conflict that was resolved, and why the ban felt like it came out of nowhere.
