Kestrel wrote: Wed Jul 29, 2026 7:02 pm Given the most spicy topic here is clearly the BG EXP nerfs, our thoughts on this are simple. BG's should not award 50% more experience then all other forms of leveling.

Out intention is not to stop people from getting to 60 or force them from questing and anyone arguing such is doing so in bad faith. After these changes BG's should be ON PAR with other forms of leveling, if you want to do BG's to level you can, if you want to quest to level you can. Both will get you to 60 at about the same rate.

If you feel the leveling speed overall on the server needs adjusting that is a separate conversation that has been had before and will continue to be had. Please be sure you are addressing the correct concern in your posts.
Big win for the developers!

These were exactly the thoughts that was forming in my mind while reading all the comments!

Can't wait to try out the pollster🔥

We have an in game polling system we are using now go vote! We will not be polling the player base for every decision we make though, and fixing an issue that was causing BG's to give 50% more exp then all other forms of leveling is not something we would be doing polls for.
It shouldn't be called ''an issue'' on pvp server that pvp stuff reward more xp gains than pve ones. It should be called natural. Also BGs are an integral part of pvp server so polls for these topics should be created, especially if you are nerfing xp gains from pvp on pvp server which is a huge topic.

Yes I did have to fight you — there's literally a thread spanning 21 pages and I have multiple screenshots of the Y'shaarj rule set before and after that thread.

Many the original PvE server players were PvP sever players ; you don't know this because you're disconnected from us. We know it because we're a community that has been together long enough on Tel'Abim to know each other.

The obvious reasons being what, gear, gold? A lot of people said they were ready to have their characters locked until transfers could open so as to not have any advantage or even transfer naked without gold — all to avoid the leveling grind.

What you call "nerfing an exploit" is something that's been part of WoW since the beta & still exists on retail. It is not an exploit and it's actually hard to pull off since the mobs can't be dealt damage to until the lower level character tags them — hence the term mobtagging — meaning the lower level character will die if done incorrectly.

All in all, this shows that you very much do not understand that we do not want to grind levels. People can opt-in to certain things to make their experience "harder" but most people on the PvP server do not want that and never asked for it.

You have stated yourselves you are HC players — keep your HC ideas to yourselves. We are Tel'Abim or Nordaanar or Ambershire players and we want our game a certain way ; you've already made your own HC servers.

The forums will be in uproar for days and the discord is already a damn hot mess of people basically calling to guillotine you folks.
Please try to condense your quotes it gets long.

The Y'Shaarj ruleset initially was more broad than we intended there was not "fight" to allow warlock summoning.

I don't doubt that some of our early adopters were PvP players. They signed up for an extremely early beta and that is what they got. The obvious reason was the head start everyone would get, the rampant ganking of fresh accounts by transferred players, and the injections of gear into an economy that has not even killed Onyxia yet.

If you think that right clicking the portrait and dropping group mid combat is an intended mechanic and not an exploit then clearly we are not going to get anywhere with that part of this conversation. Agree to disagree.

I do understand that you don't want to grind levels, I understand the very very well. Would you support us just selling level 60 boosts? What is the downside by your logic?

This is not a HC idea this is a basic game design idea, BG's should not award 50% more exp than any other source. You can keep ignoring this but it isn't helping your point.

The forums have been in an uproar before. There were times when the turtle forums were even worse with many of their changes. People can say what they want here and we will do our best to respond and explain our reasoning. You don't have to agree, but to ignore it and side step it with "But we want more EXP!" is not going to be productive or change anyone's mind.

If you think all EXP should be buffed then say that, but don't sit here and tell the community that you think BGs award 50% more EXP than any other source.

It was an issue that it was 50% more EXP BEFORE the warmode bonus. BG's are still the fastest way to level if you enroll in warmode (which all PvP players are). So it is still the fastest way to level on the PvP server just as you all want.

assuming people quit because they hit end game quicker is so closed minded, did you ever think people on the pvp server would create alts instead?

you guys are clearly not understanding the pvp player base and catering to the pvers..

So just to confirm, your issue is not this nerf, but that all EXP is too slow? You just want faster leveling you don't want BG's to give 50% more exp than all other sources?

We've been asking for 2xp since the start. HONOR TEL'ABIM the way it used to be.

This new nerf is going backwards of what the pvp playerbase has been asking for. Please keep those pve changes to the pve server.

2xP would help alliviate this new change.

Well, there is a huge difference between those 2 scenarios. If you want to quest to level, the quest giver is always there, waiting, no matter what, and you can do it even if server population is 1(ONE, meaning you).

If you want to do BG's to level, it very much solely depends on whether more players (specifically of your level range) have the incentive to do the same. On a low pop server, where queue times are already high, this nerf pretty much stabs that incentive in the back...repeatedly

You can queue up from anywhere, you don't have to wait afk in a city. The population/queue speed issues are not something we will be resolving through giving BGs a 50% exp buff.

I don't normally pvp and that was an incentive, I had fun doing it because I knew it was fast when warrior levelling is the slowest possible. I have already done 60 once, so levelling isn't a ''journey'' for me.
