Hello, I would like to share my input, respectfully.
I have no interest in rehashing any disrespectful interactions from the previous pages in this thread.
Please take the time to read what I have to say before jumping to conclusions.
I am in favor of the old turtle rules, because they were very clear and had very little room for misunderstanding.
These new rules allow for 'General Assistance' but make a clear example of AOE farming as an example leaving a lot of grey area.
I am also in favor of the old rules as well due to the flexibility with which to enjoy the game. During 'off' hours, it is nice to get something done on your own, within the rules assuming you're not doing a challenge/etc. Sometimes, even during peak hours, you maybe just dont want to interact with another person, cant commit to the attention that a full group would demand (semi-afk), or a litany of other reasons. The arguments that lead to or come from 'your fun is wrong, play my way instead' are useless from both sides. As for some, they will want to boost because they are simply bored of leveling and/or just want to take their most efficient path to get to a place where the game is enjoyable for them. Many feel they have to rebuild what they had on turtle or whatever the reason. Everything so far, falls under the category of regular players trying to enjoy a game in a fairly regular way, that has been the way for years under turtle management.
Nothing so far has convinced me that any of these examples so far goes against the spirit of the game or should be prevented to maintain some kind of atmosphere on the server. (mainly because I dont think this kind of play ruins anything for anyone, and allowing it enables more people to enjoy the game we all love their way)
Even if you disagree with the above take, we have common ground. Everyone understands, when the staff says we need to clamp down on the RMT/Boosting/Account Selling. If restricting this behavior allows them to root this out more quickly, its hard to say that is a bad thing. If bad actors are already breaking the rules by selling accounts and RMTing, they will probably be willing to break other rules as well (such as boosting).

Long term I would like to see the policy walked back to a something that is a better compromise for all players.
-Clearly define the limits of 'General Assistance' including the limits to which you can help yourself or guildmates/friends.
-expand the allowances as much as possible so that mages/paladins are not left out by simply being AOE class (you'll just shift the meta to single target DPS)
-So long as long as players are not using this to Boost/sell or RMT, which has always been against the rules, let us enjoy the game how we want.
Clearly some players are passionate about this on both sides. Let's calm down and talk about it.
Thank you.
