Alliance Journey to Scarlet Monastery: The High Elven Connection

The current Alliance trek to Scarlet Monastery usually involves taking the ship to Alah'Thalas and jumping overboard for a long, tedious swim. While it gets people near Alah'Thalas you skip it as this method bypasses the zone rather than engaging with it.

I propose a thematic option that utilizes High Elf lore to give Alliance a better journey.

The Quest: "The Lost Liturgy"
NPC: A High Elven Priest or Paladin (Silvermoon Remnant) located in Alah’Thalas.

The Narrative: Long ago, High Elven scholars studied the Light alongside the humans at the Monastery. When the Scarlet Crusade fell into madness, many Elven relics were left behind. The NPC tasks you with retrieving an Ancient Elven Censer from the SM Library.

The Mechanic: To aid your "infiltration," the NPC tells you of a forgotten Sun-Mending Runestone hidden on the northern coast of Alah'Thalas. Once the quest is accepted, players gain the ability to use the Runestone which is a permanent one-way trip to a forested northern area of Tirisfal Glades.

I'm against the proposals of added teleportation. But secret paths/treks over the mountain. Or a small High Elven settlement/hub with a flight path would be interesting.

I too dislike adding more teleportation. An Alliance flight point more nearby isn't a bad idea, however -- perhaps at the Lordaeron refugee town in the far west of Tirisfall Glades.

Which said, are people really going to Scarlet Monastery that way? I had no idea. I've always gone north from Southshore across the lake.

Adding flight point would be very good.

Back on Turtle forum, someone suggested making that terrain between Thalassian Highlands and Tirisfal Glades a mini-zone that would enhance the experience of trip to SM. No mobs but at least pretty terrain. Now it is the most optimal though ugly path.
The devil is in the detail.

A neutral questing zone that ties into the Scarlet Monestary storyline for early 20's with a a bulwark style neutral FP would be nice.

Like, horde come in from the undead bulwark side and can just get the FP and alliance start from the high elf starting zone and have to push through with a breadcrumb to pick up a few bulwark quests would be interesting. It could also serve as a FP to connect the Highlands from IF.
