Gardening Guide

This guide will show you how to garden in turtle WoW. Survival guide is listed here if you would like to know how to level survival.

Gardening is picked up from Kern Mosshoof for horde or Mortimer Stansfield for alliance. The quest to get gardening is rather straight forward and is only one quest. You will need at least 75 skill in survival in order to pick up gardening. Pick up You Reap What You Sow from either one of the gardening NPCs depending on your race. You can buy any of these seeds on the AH. The magic mushroom seeds can be bought from vendors in Thunderbluff/Darnassus. Depending on the prices on the AH buying from a vendor might be cheaper. All the rest of the seeds have been notoriously low on the AH.

Gardening Tools

To build a planter you need to use the below recipe. You will need 75 survival to get this planter. Buy the recipe from your respective gardener trainer in either Mulgore or Elwynn Forest. I would recommend doing the Mountain Berry Bush Seeds or the Magic Mushroom Spores
due to the rewards listed at the bottom of the guide.

Seeds

Image
  • Mountain Berry Bush Seeds: These are collected from bushes around The Hinterlands. They can also be bought on the AH.
Image
  • Country Pumpkin Seeds: These are collected from garden pumpkins in three zones. Elwynn Forest, Tirisfal Glades, and Hilsbrad Foothills are the three zones that these seeds can be found in. They can also be bought on the AH.
Image
  • Striped Melon Seeds: These are collected from ripe garden watermelons in five zones. The Barrens, Durotar, Elwynn Forest, Redridge Mountains, and Mulgore are the five zones that these seeds can be found in. They can also be bought on the AH.
Image
  • Magic Mushroom Spores: These are bought from three vendors. Mulgore, Teldrassil and Eastern Plaguelands are the three zones that the vendors are located at. The AH might have lower values than the vendor prices. Vendor price sits at 2 gold 50 silver. When you account for the 20% discount it will be 2 gold instead.
Gardening Stages

Each stage takes 9 minutes to progress to the next stage. The planter can be placed in only specific locations which I will outline at the bottom of this guide. But for now you can place Simple Wooden Planters that you make from survival profession at the gardening start NPCs. The initial planter looks like the image below. This means that each seed will take 36 minutes to mature (with no downtime between stages). The in between stages cannot be spoiled by time. The planters seem to disappear when you logout or leave the zone no matter what stage you are in.

The planters take 1 seed each.

You will need Refreshing Spring Water to water this stage of the cycle. Another 9 minutes later.

Once this cycle is complete you will need to water this one more time. After that the bush will be ready for harvest.

You will gain 2 different types of Mountain Berries. Each with their own separate food buff and quantities in each bush. You will get between 3-6 berries of each type.
