Yes, there are addons that can filter, but why not just keep guild ads out of world from the jump? Guild ads are just macros that people can click every ten seconds for eternity; sure there's an argument of "what about LFM", but those ads die eventually. And let's face it, if people are looking for a guild they aren't looking in /world. There's LFG, there's organic interaction in PUGs and there are guild recruitment channels in Discord.
There's a chance to keep /world interesting and not let it get taken over by guild spammers.

YES! However, I have an even better idea. Create a guild banner recruitment item like what Ascension has on Bronzebeard. This will greatly reduce World spam because guild's will have an alternative to advertising!!
They could also make something like a public billboard...think of it as LFG but instead of it being for dungeons it could be for well ANYTHING. Instead of spamming chats with LFG, LFM , and other messages constantly, players could have a place designated to POST these messages and have them be constantly there as opposed to spamming the chat with them!
After all part of the reason folks spam world chat, is because folks don't want to look at those other channels in the first place because of how spam like those messages are to begin with!
I mean to really put it into perspective! I didn't know there was a guild recruitment channel until just now! LET THAT SINK IN!!!
Well a billboard like system would fix BOTH these problems.
