Dark Ranger model for Forsaken

Hello everyone, first of all thank you for all you've been doing and restoring Turtle WoW to its former glory.

My suggestion is humble yet reasonable. Hear me out. Add Mark of the Dark Ranger from the shop to the undead race too.

In Warcraft lore, which we all respect, Dark Rangers are dark-and-fallen High Elves who were raised by the Scourge and subsequently joined Sylvanas and the Forsaken faction, serving as aforementioned Sylvanas elite guard and commanders.

Giving the Forsaken an "elven undead" option to buy from the shop also provides incredible roleplay value. And it is simply a cool idea.

Agreed- this would be highly lore friendly. It'd be great new skin for undead. I argue this would even enhance the RP community, by a lot. Please consider this Octo team :P

Exceprts from World of Warcraft - Horde Player's Guide:

Page 41:
Dark rangers are found only among the Forsaken. No other race has the elves’ history coupled with the personal knowledge of shadows to learn the arts of a dark ranger. In fact, many dark rangers refuse to teach their arts to anyone who wasn’t a former elf. While these rangers have slackened their restrictions some, most dark rangers were once elves.

Just how common do we think Dark Rangers should be? Having such a specific, exotic "hero class" type character easily accessible could be a vibe shift. It wouldn't be nearly as bad as having Blood Elves on the Horde, but having a "pretty" race available right at character creation for Horde could also cause an unintended change in the faction culture.

It's lore friendly especially since Mysteries of Azeroth has Undead Hunters, but I would say it should stay a donation shop item so that they can exist in the game world as a rare oddity.

*EDIT* I misread the post because I didn't realize this was a high elf item. If anything it should be changed from High Elf to Undead permanently. Yes this should absolutely be an option for Undead on the shop.

One would need to make it exclusively for Undead hunters as option.

Regardig roleplay it can work on Undercity 2nd floor and at the ruins, both places does not have any guards. So one can summon people there, and one can roleplay without problem. A bit more organisation, but for sure it would be cool to have undeads with undead elf and human skin.

I think the issue is here, that you have a forsaken model and the skin is just recoloring your skin and nothing else.

If you use an illusion then you can not see your gear on you.

In order to add human and elf models to the forsaken faction would need a lot of effort. That could be the solution for what you ask... but then literally every faction can be raised as undead. Trolls orcs etc... so it also opens a much bigger project.

As cool as it would be for some people, I do not think this fits. Forsaken have a very specific aesthetic and silhouette. A Dark Ranger model would be very different.

The technical difficulties would be workable. Yet it really would cheapen Forsaken as a race. Having an exclusive graphic on a race's base model is one thing; having a whole different model, more elegant, more conventionally attractive, and more rare and special in lore, is quite another.
