Shawl of the Castellan decreasing mitigation

I won the Trinket "Shawl of the Castellan" from K10 last night. Following this, I equipped it for some BM runs with a healer I have ran it a few times with previously. He mentioned to me that I was much harder to heal than when we had done it previously.

We repeated several pulls working it out, until we came to the conclusion that equipping it seemed to be the problem. Across two identical packs, he said I was noticeably harder to heal with it on compared to having the trinket slot empty.

I will do more testing today to try to actually quantify the issue, but am offering an initial observation.
