thinking up some ideas and thanks for the recent Warlock QoL updates!
I’ve been thinking about how we can make the three Warlock specs feel more distinct in raids without needing to boost raw damage numbers.
1. Destruction:
Instead of a stationary turret, let's reward tactical positioning. Add an aura that strips fire immunities, but only while the Warlock is within 15 yards of the target. This turns Fire Locks into high-risk/high-reward casters who have to use *Hellfire* and *Sear* to be effective. It gives guilds a strategic reason to bring a Fire Lock to immunity-heavy fights.
2. Demonology: The "Emergency Anchor"**
Let’s make Demonology the ultimate "Save the Raid" spec. Add a 31-point talent that lets us "Merge" with the Voidwalker. This shouldn't be a Main Tank role, but an emergency cooldown—if the MT dies during a boss execute, the Demonologist can "Merge" to hold the boss for 20-30 seconds. It would provide those epic "save the raid" moments that classic WoW is known for.
Affliction Keep it as the reliable, low-threat DPS anchor it is today.
These ideas don't require engine work or massive stat tuning, just some talent and aura adjustments. It would make Warlocks much more interesting to bring to raids, giving us specific utility jobs to handle rather than just spamming Shadow Bolt. Thanks
