Crazy Slowmode in World Chat

What's the deal with the 30 second message delay right now? It seems ridiculous and shuts down any conversation happening. Furthermore, it breaks addons that rely on messages in hidden channels to function.

Edit: I was wrong. It is not 30 seconds, but 1 minute(!)

Circa 2009, Riot Games made this "open letter against gaming toxicity", after which the gaming world collectively lost its balls, its mind and everything that made it great.

Forget about the fact that during the "dark ages of toxicity", online gaming thrived and flourished: starcraft, warcraft, counter strike, call of duty, wow etc.

However, apparently, in this brave new era, we have "evolved" as humans and can't handle shit talking, lol talking and general toomfoolery in a simple online chat.

16 year of pure cringeworthy hypocrisy.

Although i agree with your overall sentiment
the games you mention don't include thousands of players reading and speaking simultaneously on world chat (including crossfaction vs older versions of wow)
Imo some measures had to be taken

As we build out and get our moderation team running we will be looking to reduce/remove the world chat restrictions.

This has to be fixed. 1 minute is way too much. 30 seconds would be fine. Turtle's world chat was imperative for the community and brought Ambershire at least a lot of joy. I get that you need more moderators but players on the PvE server at least are dignified and friendly 99% of the time in the world chat. In the meantime the 1m slow mode is going to bleed the sense of community here dry.

World chat can be moderated by people individually. There are options people can use to solve themselves, like ignore, leaving world chat, or profanity filters, etc. There shouldn't be a slow mode imo. Just spam protection and that's it.

People hide behind anonymity and express views in chat they would never dare to in mixed RL company. I look forward to mods dealing with this cowardly behaviour.
