+This directory records licensing/provenance status relevant to this historical
+Fishing Buddy fork.
+
+## Important
+
+The current official Fishing Buddy projects maintained by Sutorix on CurseForge
+are marked **All Rights Reserved**.
+
+No standalone project-wide LICENSE file was identified in the two known GitHub
+ancestors checked during the 2026-08-31 audit:
+
+- https://github.com/aim2kill/FishingBuddy
+- https://github.com/refaim/FishingBuddy
+
+For that reason, this repository does not include an invented MIT/GPL license
+for inherited Fishing Buddy code.
+
+Files:

+  rights status and the GitHub-license ambiguity.
