Can we get actual proof It's a DDOS and not just "Trust me bro"?

I want to see the actual bad packets flooding in from outside of the server. Detailed, happening live recordings of it.

Prove that It's a DDOS and not just hearsay.

Corrupted or malformed packets often flood a server when a network device malfunctions or an application misbehave, thus processing bad packets which forces the server's CPU and memory to work overtime, slowing down or crashing the system just like a real attack would look like.

Quite literally when they changed the 20 to 25 quest log thing, this started happening. And why does it happen around the same time every day? That being 5pm Central Time (CT)? Because that's when the player base is at It's peak, or nearing It's peak. People log in, and and this MY BEST GUESS. The quest log updates server side for the player, and if they have more than 20 quests, it sends bad packets to the server. The more people online with 21+ quests, the more bad packets get sent, until it overloads, and crashes.

Sure, it could be a DDOS, even AFTER they JUST added a stop gab between server hosts, but I doubt that very highly. Chances are It's bad packets from brute forcing the quest log limit change, and they're trying to save face and blame it on a DDOS, and not incompetence.

The quest log change happened on the 14th. On the 16th, issues started occurring. We have player reports on the Discord talking about it as early as the 16th, and again on the 18th, continuing well before any competition server went up.

Nope. Absolutely incorrect.

The 25 quest log change occurred on August 14th. The DDOS attempts started on the 23rd. This is well documented.

There was no DDOS on the 16th or the 18th. There wasn't even server crashes or downtime that I remember.

In reality Ravencraft launched on August 23rd, and then roughly 24 hours later we had the DDOS attempts start. Does that prove Ravencraft is involved. Absolutely not. But the timing is pretty crazy.

The first two days of the DDOS occurred during peak hours for example. Then on the third day it magically stopped, and on that third day, a Tuesday, we reached our peak population of 3633 players, this was at around 12:30pm / 3:30pm PST/EST and I'm not sure what that is server time but that's generally "peak" population time.

So if it was an inherent software issue, we would have had the same issues on that Tuesday as we did on the Sunday.

Also today for example we did reach 3817 players before the DDOS started.

Two of the biggest forum shills are already here deflecting, including the guy who likes to apparently cyberstalk members here and has more forum posts here than mob kills on the server. Maybe you're onto something, OP.

So they're adding DDOS protection (which you have probably seen on the website) just to cover having misconfigured a network device to bring down the server very consistently during the same hours every day?

Yeah, let me go get my tinfoil. You probably can show me how to make a great hat.

And what would you expect to get? Access to their entire server logs? And why would you believe those either? Maybe the can give you full root access so you can better verify that they are not just running too many instances of candy rush on the server hardware.

This is beyond silly...

TBH, not sure why anyone would lie about an update causing issues and say it is a DDoS... I mean, it is pretty common for updates to have bugs, they are unavoidable, even by billion dollar companies. Anyone who has ever thought about doing anything service-related knows lying to customers/stakeholders is a good way to lose said customers/piss off stakeholders. All-in-all, it would make absolutely no sense for anyone to do this.
That said, whatever happens occurs in cycles, about two minutes on, ten minutes off (from what I have experienced). And the idea it only happens at the same time every day when the server is at peak is just factually wrong. Do you even play off-peak? Because it happened just last night around 11-12 EST.

All else aside, demanding video recordings or other such "proof" of what is happening is pretty damn bold. Even if "proof"was supplied, would you believe any of it? Logs, video "evidence", ect.. can be easily faked.

Did you get persuaded by a meme? The server was stable for like a week after they increased the quest limit to 25.

It all reads like a shill. I see them in chat in-game as well.

Ask yourself - what interest does the average player have in proving or disproving such allegations? They don't. This is just shilling for the perps. Kestrel already provided an itemized list of attacks and vectors on day one.

There are plenty of free private servers, but this guy feels the need to hold a kangaroo court on octo here...

There were funny pictures leaked of the Team Discord of Turtle where they blatantly spoke about "DDoS"ing their competition.

They also spoke of China being their main market (See Capy which suddenly turned up) and now Raven uses the same client that Capy did who is apparently ran by former Turtle Devs including Bowser afaik.

Can we get actual proof that you have an actual brain, OP?
