Magerbummer wrote: Wed Jun 10, 2026 7:31 pm This isn't the first or the last time GM's help with items like this and won't be the last. There's a clear line between helping with a boss/item that is bugged vs outright giving items like that to players.

There exists a clear bias from GMs to some players/guilds. GMs really need to reflect on what and how they help players. People are inherently biased, but saying "Good luck on binding" and it magically drops or killing a world boss for a guild is what's clearly wrong. It's made some guilds and players so full of themselves.
Just going to clear up some misinformation,

As far as I know there's no way to manipulate item drops, they're connected to the id. No GM on Octo has ever helped anyone kill a world boss.
So we have a direct confession of a GM helping someone with a legendary item, but somehow killing a world boss is not possible?

Granted, the player revealing this info said they made a ticket to have it reverted, but that a GM would think it's an okay thing to do is a bit of a Yikes!

I mean, it's definitely possible. But has not happened.

The incident you're blatantly trying to shade a guild in bad light from was because at the time, right after the 1.18 update, two class breaking bugs were in the game. Someone and myself were showing a GM the extent of said bug on a world boss. After it was dead, the items were deleted and shortly after the bugs were fixed.

7 days is not enough of a punishment in the slightest. How about a permanent ban/character deletion?

I don't know why you're trying to state I'm "blatantly trying to shade a guild in a bad light" when I stated that the players rejected the item drops by making a ticket about it.

The topic and commentary right now is about GM behavior. What people do with GM given items is also an issue, but the fact that the items were returned is a commendable thing, be it an accident by the GM or a system error that might have gone unnoticed.

To also clarify my statement "It's made some guilds and players so full of themselves" is a separate, general statement that is clear to me now, could have been rephrased, and for that I do apologize.

The idea was to point at the player who received the mace and the absolute ego to just stand in a capital city and to think that people would not question how they received it, if they haven't properly shown to be someone who could obtain it by either earning and spending gold or by making connections.
