Been playing on the PvE server after specifically asking several GM's if transfers would be available ; bought donation shop items for convenience and to keep this whole thing running -- as like most people-- I intend to play for quite a while.
I have the screenshots of the conversation with Pig that I then uploaded to my guild discord so multiple people started characters (alts) thinking they could transfer after a few months. Which is also why I made donation shop purchases and I doubt I'm alone in this case.
I honestly don't care if I have to transfer naked without gold so long as professions remain, but saying transfers would be possible and then reverting that call isn't a good modus operandi.
There should be a poll on this. I think we can safely assume most players would be fine with transfers being possible under specific conditions and only after a certain amount of time has passed.
My options would be:
- lvl 60 requirement ; no crafting alts possible that way
- Reasonable amount of gold
- No gear or an ilvl limit ; maybe keep bags/tabard
- Keep professions
- Have a one month delay as they had originally announced
A simple work around would be that when the PvP server releases you "lock" the current state of your character and it becomes unplayable until the original transfer window was intended and unlocking it increases the delay
None of the above seems unreasonable and would be fair to the people who made their plans based on what GM's confirmed while respecting the integrity of the PvP server overall
And don't worry Upsilon you'll still drop like a fly when your LIP runs out as usual
