Class weapon restrictions

I talked to a friend today about nightelf priests being able to use bows. We think that change by twow was great - not only are elves in the general fantasy world often depicted as THE bow class, it also gives the players some more room to create a character based on their imagination from an RP perspective, for the most part, as bows usually don't give as interesting stats for priests.

We thought about the most lore-accurate change on the horde side regarding weapon restrictions, and the idea we came up with pretty much at the same time was Orcs being able to wield onehanded axes.

Orcs are shown with axes so often you get the feeling they were practically given one as a baby. The grunts in wc1 and wc2, the first wood-chopping orcs you encounter in Durotar, and even the orcs outside of the Blizzard universe very often wield axes. We had the impression orcs of all classes would probably be able to wield onehanded axes effectively.

With rogues already being able to wield axes by twow, this only would affect warlocks and mages, so like the nightelf-bow adjustment it would merely open up a cosmetic adjustment to the players.

How would you guys perceive a change like this?

I can see dangers of opening up new BiS items for classes with these changes but if everything is balanced properly I don't think that should be a huge problem so I think it's a nice idea. Trolls all getting access to thrown weapons would also be a nice one I think.

There's currently no one-handed axe in the game (at least none that I know of) with +spellpower on it. So I don't think any new bis would sprout out of this (: It would be purely cosmetic.
