Two different characters both equipped with same equipment, but with one of them at 30 and the other at 39, the level 39 will win in most of the cases, even if the level 30 was more skilled. Twinks will say that everyone can farm gold or equipment in a given bracket but will never address this major issue giving them massive advantages. You will also never see someone twinking in a non X9 level. It's always 19, 29, 39, 49 or 59 to give themselves the most advantage possible. I have never seen someone twinking at level 35 for example, I wonder why.

You may find raiding boring, which is perfectly valid. You may want to keep playing the lower content, which the game lets you do so by locking your XP. I'm giving the twinks every benefit of the doubt here and assuming they argue in good faith (hint: they don't.) However, majority of the players you will be facing do not think the same way as you do, and for them, the game has a big goal of reaching 60 and PvP is either a goal at 60 to be pursued, or a side goal until 60. Battlegrounds currently give XP, meaning a lot of players who would not normally play PvP are incentivized to play PvP. A very large majority of them will not be X9 level, and at any giving point in game, you will have intrinsic advantages towards anyone who is below you in levels, simple as that.

This inherent advantage does not exist at 60 bracket. You may say that you can out-gear people at 60, but the same also applies to <60 PvP. Unlike <60 PvP, at level 60 everyone has the same chance of hitting and resisting things, and same base stats for their mana and HP.

Imagine playing some shooter game, but there's 30% chance that the bullets of your enemies can just disappear before hitting you for no reason and that you have 25% more HP than others. Everyone would think this is retarded and unfair, yet this is what twinks defend. You can pretend as much as you want, you don't want to play against other twinks, you enjoy lying to clueless new players and you enjoy stomping people who are at a serious disadvantage against you.

You will never be good at PvP.

If everyone had the same gear and the same specialization, I would gladly play this kind of competitive game. The reality is that this game is not fair at all. Do not ignore gear advantages. A newly level 60 player, even if they are highly skilled, cannot defeat an average player with nearly BiS gear if they lack equipment themselves - at best, they might only be able to draw. Since this situation already exists at level 60, the same logic applies when a level 35 player enters a battleground. Have you ever considered that they could simply level to 39 before joining? Did the game prevent them from leveling? You can categorize level differences as another form of unfair advantage, just like gear, instead of treating it as a separate issue. Therefore, in my opinion, there is no “wrong way” to play - there are only people who fail to think things through.

But in the end, after saying all of this, I have to admit that I have already lost interest in this game’s PvP. I have gone far beyond the original reason I started playing. I did not come here for PvP. I was only dragged into battlegrounds because of a quest in Arathi Highlands. As you mentioned, the whole story started because I was instantly killed by a shaman. But I have gone too deep into it now. Talking with you reminded me that it is time to move on. There is no need to master this kind of unfair PvP system. It’s not that I don’t want to hone my skills, it’s just that this game isn’t worth the effort.

I came here to experience the game’s story and the great atmosphere of this server. There are no RMT abuses tolerated unlike blizzard, no bots everywhere, and there is excellent GM support. Those are the things I actually care about. I never believed that this kind of unfair PvP was what attracted me, and I will not dedicate my time to it.

As for my level 39 character, I never leveled it to 39 just to dominate lower-level players. If that had been my goal, I would never have chosen to play a def paladin. I was simply responding to the people who once killed me instantly, and so far, I am satisfied with my response. I am not here complaining about it like you guys are.

Idc get good PvP in this game, It not worth at all.

In my opinion, all of you are the same. You enjoy using unfair advantages to bully other players, so do not put yourselves on some moral high ground. You are not qualified to do that.

Collinswood1 wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2026 1:03 pm I do find it funny, the people that support twinking. With their excuses, anyone can do it, anyone can twink etc etc.

Fact is, you cannot twink if new to the server, have no alts, still trying to level.

The fact is, twinks are made to bully other players, NOT to fight other twinks.

Blizzard proved this when they made a twink only BG, twinks vanished over a week, no one twinked any more. Sadly Blizz, removed this, and tada twinks were back.

I still think, those that turn off XP, camp a top end of their bracket and farm lowbies are noting else then online bullies, who probably get bullied in their life, so need revenge somehow.

Twinks will never be great at PvP, they are too used to having 2-3x the HP of their opposition, enchants that hugely benefit them, potions, buffs etc before entering a BG.

To me, twinking is like a cancer, will never go away, and just destroys the will to BG (Yes I will use the word Cancer, as I have had it, and went through it)

MY opinion (part from what Blizz did, that is fact)
When someone abuses the lv39 meta to bully you, you can fight back the same way. I've already built a level 39 def pala to counter the shamans, warriors, rogues and hunters(sometimes, depends on what obstacles can be used). now, when the kind of shamans you mentioned see me defending the flag, they just quietly walk away.

If your response to something you think is unfair is to complain or run away instead of using your brain to fight back, then all you deserve is to lose.
Not a single thing you wrote disputes anything I did, so nice try LOL
As for you, If you cannot understand what I am saying, then explaining it to you would simply be a waste of my time. Get out of my sight.

Twinks have an unfair advantage because 9 times out of 10 they're an alt using their mains resources to gain an unfair advantage over those who don't. It turns people off from wanting to queue up at lower levels if they know xxswiftygodxx with 1k more hp than you, full enchants and consumes can twoshot you.

Debate as old as time. In the end blizzard did decide to add xp locked queues, which killed twinking, because twinks are not being created to fight even fights -> Less low level bgs popping.

Question is if the community would vote for less bgs without twinks or for more bgs with twinks. Curious to see the poll results.

Pekhadow wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2026 3:16 pm Why? Because raiding at level 60 is something I really dislike. I don't enjoy reading guides before I even play, and I don't enjoy listening to people explain every mechanic during a raid. It completely ruins the sense of immersion.

Unfortunately, the game is simply too old. Some players have done it countless times already, while others just want to rush through everything. Putting together a full 40-man progression raid where everyone is learning from scratch is basically impossible.
This is funny, because there were absolutely 40-man (and otherwise) progression raids on Nordinaar, where people were all learning together rather than watching guides. Not only that, but with the last turtle patch, several raids got new bosses/mechanics (BWL/Ony mainly) and an entirely new raid was released: Timbermaw Hold. When Timbermaw Hold came out, everyone had the same opportunity to figure it out for themselves. The raid had a lot of unforgiving mechanics that could wipe the entire raid and only a few prevailed early. Most people, after a few wipes, just wanted to let everyone else figure the mechanics out.

People will always make excuses to protect their ego.

That being said about raids, when it comes to PVP, I'm actually on the side of 'do whatever you want' on twinking. Some of my friends who don't have the time to sink into leveling want to have a good time in the lower brackets, 10-19 / 20-29. Obviously, the ability to level lock is central to this. Just getting a few dungeon blues and greens of your level is enough to be called a twink in these brackets. There is such a thing as an 'arms race' and anyone who I've seen level lock at least has some armor kits and usually will consume healing potions in the field. These are things I see as reasonably obtainable by level 19s without the assistance of higher level characters/mains/alts. A 'true twink' will have endgame enchantments (+25 Agi 2h), gems, and be fully bis with quest items that are not reasonably obtainable in the bracket at level "X9". These 'true twinks' are few and far between.... we've been running 10-19 bracket (my friends and myself) and we ran into ONE such geared hunter, and he ended up joining us, because we are always in there having a blast together, regardless what we're up against.

There is not a 'twink epidemic' evident at the 19 and 29 brackets, at least not yet. Source: I play those brackets regularly. 39 and 49 might be different, but I'd guess it's still a very small percentage that are locking at x9 and getting full bis.

People will be higher level than you (even at 19 someone can ding 20 inside the bg)
People will have better gear than you (even semi twinks will face this)
People will queue in groups and outplay you (remember they are having fun together)
If you cannot accept the above, maybe you don't enjoy the battlegrounds/PVP aspect of WoW.
Long-term twinks will always exist, so long as you can lock your EXP.

Hope this helps
