Just something worth knowing, GMs don't get involved in Need/Greed roll disputes. Same as retail Blizzard, TurtleWow did, the Need/Greed system is just a built-in mechanic, and however a roll feels to the rest of the group, it's still a valid use of the system. Rolling Need isn't against any rule, even if it's annoying.

Where GMs do step in is when a group has an agreed loot systems, HR, SR, master loot with a loot council, DKP, whatever, and someone breaks that agreement.
E.g. rolling Need on a hard-reserved item, or a master looter ignoring the agreed SR list.
That's a broken agreement between players, which is different from "I lost a roll and I'm salty about it," and GMs can look into it if you've got proof (screenshots, addon logs, chat confirming the rules beforehand, SR lists).

GMs don't touch Need/Greed roll disputes. It's a built-in game mechanic, same deal as retail, and whatever a roll feels like to the group, it's still a legit use of the system. Losing a roll to someone isn't a bannable thing, even if it stings

If you have a massive problem with what happened in a looting situation, take it to General/Trade Chat and let nature take its course. Like it did back in the day.

If it's a repeat offender then he'll get less dungeon runs. If it's a nothingburger (I hate that word but it's aptly used here) then nothing will happen.

This shouldn't be news, it is in the spirit of classic WoW as it was no different there.

Part of building a community is knowing who to avoid. As was mentioned, call them out in general, that is how it was done in classic.

You pretend to be some detailed reporter but the clickbait title is on a level of pulp fiction.

The facts are you put regular loot rules without any prior agreements who's going to roll on what, you grouped up with random people which has a certain risk and then when you didn't get the result you wanted from a GM you make a public post to discredit the realm and its staff.

Not at all! I'm quite fond of the realm and its staff. The community here is actually fantastic and I love it.
I'm merely informing other people, as this is could be a culture shock for players coming from other pservers where unfair rolling is a punishable offense

It's not even an item for me! I'm simply calling out an unfair event that I witnessed:
Someone rolled on an item that was clearly much better suited for another player.
And, just to make this clear again: the rest of the party were cloth-wearing mages, so they couldn't really use a Mail item like this one.
After being called out by others, the person who rolled then gave the reason that they were "prot" even though they were playing as DPS (I feel like I need to keep clearing this up as it seems to be mostly ignored)...
Come on... it's +7 INT and +18 damage/healing spells. A DPS pally claiming to be Prot rolled against a healer for this item. What are we even arguing about here?

I don't think you quite have a grasp on how some classes prioritize stats. Those pants are perfectly useful for all paladin specs.

That's what I'm thinking. Paladins still need Intellect and some Spell Power in order to maximize their usefulness (Backup healing and what have you). Just because Strength and Stamina are the main think a DPS Paladin might prioritize doesn't automatically negate the need for Intellect and Spirit :p
