While I do get your point, I think there is nothing wrong with making suggestions
The exact same suggestions have been made at this point likely hundreds of times. Most of the time they're posted fairly aggressively. The devs have responded to most of the suggestions already as well, saying that they won't happen.
So at that point, they've made their case. They've explained what they want. The developers, the people that actually run the server, have said no-- and they've explained why. So we're just going in a circle.
I would love for the PVP server to be successful and while some might doubt whether I'm genuine about that I am serious. The thing is, people just aren't that interested in it. These guys want the developers to essentially completely revamp a system that isn't broken. Look at it this way, many here are talking about TA and how it was handled well and respected by the Turtle devs. The only actual difference between the two servers is the XP gain is lower on Octowow. Yet all of these suggestions are way way waaaay beyond just XP. Am I wrong here? Am I going crazy? Because honestly interacting with the PVP community makes me feel like I'm a crazy person. First they say TA was great, then they make a bunch of recommendations that are completely different from TA. The reality is that TA and Y'shaarj are basically the same server. The devs didn't boost XP because then everyone would be 60, and the leveling brackets would be dead, and that would be a bad look for new players. They have explained this at length. So if the XP is the only difference, where are all of these other suggestions coming from. They want a complete rework of the ranks. They want a complete rework of the rewards. They want a completely different PVP server. So they should go play on a completely different PVP server.
And even looking at their "suggestions" here, many of them will impact the PVE server if implemented. So yeah, I have an opinion on this stuff and it's formed by having been on the forums pretty actively for the last while and genuinely reading their opinions and complaints and not understanding them. Because again, many of them speak about TA with high regard. So we don't need a complete rework of anything. The core systems are fine. The only thing they really have to complain about is the XP rates and the devs have given in my opinion an extremely good explanation for why they don't want the rates boosted.
I don't know what else to say. From my perspective, the PVP community here are extremely toxic and are their own worst enemy, and I personally believe that they've managed to push away a lot of people that wanted to be on that server. I think a lot of the reason the PVP servers population is struggling is due to the community on the server. I've referenced it before but I've seen people post on the forums here complaining about how they're constantly being corpse camped by 60s on the PVP server and can't level. I mean I guess that's part of what PVP is, but if I was on the PVP server I think I'd focus my PVP on people my own level and not chase away new players. Who am I to lecture them though, it's their server, maybe the people being corpse camped were just too weak for a PVP server.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I only remember the option to vote for cross realm BGs ( explicitly without crossfaction) or no cross realm BGs at all.
From memory and I could be wrong but I remember the vote as either cross realm with cross faction or no cross realm at all. My understanding was that if there was cross realm it would need to be cross faction due to the PVP server being cross faction. I felt like the vote was whether the PVP server would accept the cross faction change, and if they would then cross realm BGs could be implemented. Either way, those details aside, what the PVP community seems to want is cross realm BGs with no cross faction.
In order for cross realm BGs to be implemented without cross faction, the PVE server would have to make drastic changes so as to appease the PVP crowd? Sorry, if the PVP crowd was willing to compromise then I'd be willing to compromise. But if they aren't willing to budge, and they're the minority, then why should the majority have to bend the knee to them? I'm sorry man but I find that attitude of theirs to be fucking obnoxious.
The expectation that the PVE server should change drastically so that the PVP server can benefit? The PVE server implemented cross faction BGs to decrease queue times. It was done for a reason. The population of Y'shaarj is not nearly large enough to compensate for the cross faction BGs. What I'm saying is that the queue times would be impacted for the PVE players. How is that fair? Why should we suffer for the PVP players when there's a simple solution that literally solves all of the problems? Please if you're going to respond to anything I've said respond to this point. How is that fair?
