Why do you not consider it an argument, that I agree with the devs design philosophy (considering they have said no, to this) and that this design philosophy is in spirit with the vanilla experience. The experience that was eradicated with/post cataclysm due to zooming fast leveling, that could get you max level within a day or two, without the player realizing what any of the content they just progressed was about.

I'd put way more weight to that argument (which I consider legitimate) than the argument, as I understand it, which is a version of: We are a few people of the 60 population that want more level 60 so our PvP experience is better. We want this fast [THIS IS A BETA SERVER] so increase xp gains on this server". You can call it an argument, and that's fine, but it seems more like a selfish wish for people who does not agree with the explicit design philosophy of the devs or of this kind of server. While I don't think 2x is the end of the world, and I would probably still play the server with it, since I consider PvP always on as a much more immersive experience that 1x and no WPvP, I would hate to do greyed out quest just to complete a story of a zone or questline, because the leveling pace was artificially inflated.
Hybrid DPS classes are against Classic WoW philosophy. Checkmate, chud.

majority of the games content? PARDON? im not sure if u ever playd wow at all but most people spend over 90% of their playtime at 60. and alot of the crowd isnt looking forward to a unskilled tutorial that takes 3work weeks before they can play the game.
Well if you rush the leveling content, then yes, the majority time will be spend in 60. But the vast majority of the content is still in zones and areas that are not meant for level 60. At 60, people just repeat the same content to a much higher degree.
bro im not sure how u spend over 50days playtime lvling but thats a you issue, even in classic with even worse exp rates most time is spent at 60.
I litteraly said I agreed with you. I will paste my sentence here: "Well if you rush the leveling content, then yes, the majority time will be spend in 60."

What I said was that the vast majority of the content is not for level 60. The majority of the content is for leveling (of course there is a large overlap in the 50-60 range). And as I said, at 60, you generally "just" repeat the same content to a much higher degree. If I spent time before level 60 to get all pre-60 set bonuses sets in the game, I would repeat A LOT of content for leveling, that would quickly be greyed out, but I would spent a lot more time REPEATING the same content.

The 'Vanilla design philosophy' proven itself to be flawed in so many ways.. That's exactly why we have all the classic+ stuff. Turtle WOW is a version of WOW built upon Vanilla with multiple changes to all of the aspects of the game, including core things.
Also when blizzard tried to do those 'classic' servers, they faced the harsh reality check: the vast majority of players were using all the ways to skip leveling, including RMT of all sorts. Only few really did the full leveling by themselves. Yes, there is a concept of 'leveling is the main game experience', but it's for HC servers. There are players who enjoy HC, but there all the other players, who are here for the endgame content. Especially PVP players, as PVP really works only on the maximum level with all the skills learned, gear, classes balance, etc.

And yes, obviously we need more players to come here to play. There are so many players who stop playing during leveling cause it's too long and boring, but also there are many players who do not even join the server cause of that. I personally know several such people, and there are many active players who got same experience: when you tell that the xp rate is 1x, people just do not go for it.

And finally about 'greyed out quest lines' - it did not happen to me on TA where we got x2 xp rates and full xp from rested bonus. And I never heard that it was a problem for any of the players there. Why would it happen here then?

THat's fine to have different opinions since there are many ways to enjoy that game. For a fact, most pvpers look for server with quick leveling because it's a chore in order to get the fun at lvl 60 for them. We ask x2 xp to have some healthy pop on the serv.

It's obvious that a big part of the serv is asking for it, that's why devs should just do a poll

The same could be claimed for N'Zoth. Just leave it alone already. Not happening.

I don't agree. I don't think the philosophy have proven itself flawed. I think classic wow in 2019 is proof of that, and all the servers (including this one) that cater to that experience. What I assume you are referring to is the fact that blizzard walked away from this design philosophy, but that doesn't become a "proof" of anything. If this is not what you are referring to, do enlighten me. The moment Blizzard started catering to only making the endgame interesting and treating the rest of the world as a chore, people jumped ship. Thus RMT made its way into the game to recoup these losses (and then some).
Are there parts of vanillas design that was flawed? Yes, nothing is perfect, they had to release the game at some point. Was the design philosophy in itself flawed? I think not, and I think the vast majority who play on this server would agree. While I haven't played retail WoW since early WoD, what I'm being told by friends who does, is that the PvP experience here is quite good. So for players who want a good and quick PvP dopamine rush day in, day out, retail sounds like the way to go.

It was also not my experience, that "the vast majority of players were using all the ways to skip leveling". The vast majority of players joined in the leveling and loved it. Maybe on the 2nd, 3rd and 10th alt, they did go out of their way fastforward or skip leveling, but the first time around people stood in freaking queues waiting for unique questmobs to respawn.

On TA it happened to me quite a lot that I outleveled questlines, even though I joined TWoW late, and thus only made it to around level 45 or something.

That's not an argument in your favor. Classic had 1-2M players at launch in 2019 — most were players who wanted to experience something they had never seen and a few who were nostalgic.

Most of the players didn't hit 60 —as was the case in original Vanilla— most of the players who did used mage boosting services for IGG or RMT. You leveling with people & claiming they enjoyed it means you weren't part of the competitive crowd in the slightest and arguably didn't see much raiding time.

Classic anniversary had numbers so inferior at launch and currently can barely maintain the player base despite multiple times our numbers on the PvP server.

People didn't go for it again because THEY DO NOT LIKE GRINDING and even raids were grindy due to the required WBuffs and sheer amount of consummables.

Turtle WoW solved both of those problems by removing world buffs — making elixirs persist through death. Tel'Abim the PvP server also had 2x xp to solve population problems.

So your whole "spirit of vanilla" doesn't mean jack when no one actually wants to play vanilla wow. People want vanilla+ and most of the concerns touch QoL things which is why Turtle was successful.

This isn't a vanilla+ server... it's a Turtle WoW server copy cat and the population that is currently playing is overwhelmingly from Turtle WoW. Asking things to be as they were isn't asking for a change — it's asking for continuity.

Also...

Zeniet & Defiant you're both still not 60 —quite far from— after more than a month since the server's been opened... that's also quite telling that you're arguing to not be left behind and that's exactly what 2x is for.

We don't want anyone left behind. We want a healthy population of lvl 60's to BG without having to rely on the PvE server for xserver or xfaction ; a healthy amount of raiding players ; a healthy economy and amount of WPvP from people gathering herbs/mines in high level zones.

We just want a healthy server and Turtle understood how to do that.

Octowow has already failed on dungeon mobtagging (which is not more of an exploit than outside) — BG xp — lasher farm etc.

There's a reason Turtle had these things in the game after years of data to support it.
