Hunter pet ability scaling #320

Aco reported

Describe the Issue: There seems to be some issue with the way pet abilities scale. I will use the example of Lightning Breath from a wind serpent.

A rank 5 Lightning Breath deals 78 to 90 damage (in-game it shows 80 to 93) according to Petopia Classic. LB scaled with 50% of the wind serpent's spell power in TWoW and thus Octo. With a ranged attack power of 1218, my wind serpent has 182.7 spell power. If we add a 50% SP coefficient to Lightning Breath, we get an interval of 171.35 to 184.35 damage. This number is similar to the ones I get having the Breastplate of Beast Mastery and the Beastmaster's Boots equipped.

However, if we accounted for the additional modifiers from pet happiness (+25%) and the Unleashed Fury talent (+20%), the damage should be higher yet it stays at roughly the baseline value plus the SP scaling instead. Even so, if the pet is content (yellow), LB will deal 25% less damage. Scent of Blood does increase the damage as intended.

Therefore, either the SP scaling is wrongly applied or the two aforementioned damage modifiers outlined above are not properly applied. This may be an issue specific to wind serpents or spellpower scaling abilities, though. More testing would need to be done on all pet abilities.

How to reproduce: Be Beast Mastery with Spirit Bond and test the numbers on a dummy or mob.

How is it supposed to work: All pet damage modifiers should benefit all pet damage. Pet abilities should scale following the coefficients presented here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NbwgI9kuGvAXlfD-tpoXZ2VMwtsUBwPMhI1yrQKgeaU/htmlview#gid=1514061148
