Class Changes:

Priest

Shadow priests are notorious for being good, but also not. Their mana economy is horrendous and comes with several downsides other dps+caster hybrids don’t have to work around. The challenge for Shadow is to boost its utility and mana economy without increasing their power, as their damage per second is actually very good already.

New Abilities

Improved Shadowform

Passive

Reduces the mana cost of your Shadow spells by 15% while in Shadowform.

Pain Spike

Learned at Level: 60 Cooldown: 15 sec

Causes instant Shadow damage, but the damage dealt begins healing itself back over 5 sec after it lands. Burst that has to be followed up.

Shadow Mend

Heals a friendly target, but damages you for 50% of the amount healed. Generates reduced threat. A Shadow Priest's only direct heal.

Race-Specific Spells

Several Priest spells are taught only to certain races. Most are the familiar Classic racials, but a few are new to OctoWoW: Dwarves learn Avatar, Night Elves gain Searing Shot, and the Tauren Priest arrives with Spiritwalk and Light of An'she. (Fear Ward, once a Dwarf-only prayer, is now trained by Priests of every race, so it no longer appears here.)

Human

Feedback
Surrounds you with anti-magic energy: any spell cast against you burns the attacker's mana and deals Shadow damage for each point burned.

Desperate Prayer (shared with Dwarves)
An instant self-heal on a short cooldown.

Dwarf

Desperate Prayer (shared with Humans)
An instant self-heal on a short cooldown.

Avatar
Turns a friendly target to stone, increasing their armor and all resistances for a short time.

Night Elf

Elune's Grace
Reduces ranged damage taken and increases your chance to dodge; every melee attack you dodge while it is active restores mana equal to your Agility.

Starshards
Rains starshards down on the target, dealing Arcane damage over time.

Searing Shot
Fires a searing arrow for weapon damage plus additional Fire damage.

Undead

Touch of Weakness
The next melee attack against you strikes the attacker for Shadow damage and reduces the damage they deal.

Devouring Plague
Afflicts the target with a disease dealing Shadow damage over time; the damage it deals also heals you.

Tauren

Spiritwalk
Enter the spirit realm, becoming invisible for the duration.

Light of An'she
Blasts the target with light, reducing their chance to hit and burning them for Holy damage over time.

Troll

Hex of Weakness
Weakens the target, reducing the damage they deal and the effectiveness of any healing they receive.

Shadowguard
Surrounds you with shadows; anything that strikes you is struck back for Shadow damage. It carries limited charges and generates no threat.

Changes to Class Mechanics

Holy Nova in Shadowform
Holy Nova can be cast while you are in Shadowform. It is not free: casting it in Shadowform also deals Holy damage to you.

Changes to Baseline Spells

Divine Spirit
Baseline for every Priest from level 30. It is also far cheaper (Rank 3: 785 340, Rank 4: 970 445) and gains a fifth rank at level 60.

Lightwell
Baseline from level 30, and rebuilt so that nobody has to click it. Whenever you heal a friendly target with Lesser Heal, Flash Heal, Heal or Greater Heal, the Lightwell heals another injured ally nearby. Cooldown 10 min 5 min.

Smite
Costs 40 mana and gains a ninth rank.

Holy Nova
Costs 180 mana and can be cast in Shadowform: it is the one Holy spell Shadowform does not lock out, at the cost of damaging you.

Prayer of Healing
Heals your target and their party, so you can heal a different group in the raid.

Blessed Recovery
Heals a percentage of the damage taken after a melee or ranged critical hit.

Talent Changes

Discipline

Chastise
Row 7, 1 Rank: new capstone, replaces Power Infusion
Causes Holy damage. On an enemy it disorients them until they take damage; on an ally it increases their attack and casting speed, for longer if the damage crits.

Enlighten
Row 5, 1 Rank: new
Brings a party member under your tutelage. Your Discipline and Holy casts have a chance to burn them for a share of their health as Holy damage and increase both your and their spell damage and healing.

Resurgent Shield
Row 5, 1 Rank: new, takes Divine Spirit's slot
When Power Word: Shield breaks, part of its mana cost is refunded and your Holy damage and healing increase based on how much the shield absorbed.

Purifying Flames
Row 4, 2 Ranks: new
Holy Fire has a chance to increase your Holy damage for a duration.

Blessed Concentration
Row 2, 2 Ranks: replaces Martyrdom
Being critically struck can grant Focused Casting, which prevents pushback and increases interrupt resistance.

Piercing Light
Row 1, 3 Ranks: new
Reduces the chance enemies resist your Holy and Discipline spells.

Searing Light
Moved from Holy to Discipline Row 4, 2 Ranks → 3 Ranks: reworked
Your damaging Holy and Discipline crits have a chance to make your next Smite instant and cheaper.

Mental Strength
5 Ranks → 3 Ranks: reworked
Increases your total Intellect and your spell casting speed.

Mental Agility
Row 4 → Row 1
Also reduces the cost of your offensive Holy and Discipline spells, not just instants.

Improved Inner Fire
Row 4 → Row 3, 3 Ranks → 2 Ranks
Boosts all of Inner Fire's effects, not only its armor.

Wand Specialization
5 Ranks → 2 Ranks
Covers Bows as well as Wands, adds hit chance, and gives those attacks a chance to restore mana.

Force of Will
Also increases the amount absorbed by your Power Word: Shield.

Removed: Power Infusion, Martyrdom, and Divine Spirit, which is now baseline. Improved Mana Burn moved to Shadow.

Holy

Ascendance
Row 7, 1 Rank: new capstone, replaces Lightwell
Purges all crowd control from you and empowers your healing: your heals cost less mana and cast faster, and allies you heal gain Apotheosis, increasing healing they receive.

Reservoir of Light
Row 5, 3 Ranks: new
Increases the effectiveness of Lightwell's healing.

Book of Prayer
Row 5, 2 Ranks: replaces Improved Prayer of Healing
You regain part of a healing spell's mana cost whenever it differs from your previous heal, which rewards varying your casts instead of spamming one button.

Empowered Recovery
Row 4, 2 Ranks: new
Extends Renew's duration and increases your healing on targets already affected by it.

Divinity
Row 1, 5 Ranks: replaces Holy Specialization
Increases the critical effect chance of your Holy and Discipline spells.

Holy Focus
Row 1, 2 Ranks: replaces Healing Focus
Avoids interruption while casting any Holy spell, not just heals.

Improved Healing
Also reduces the mana cost of Prayer of Healing.

Holy Reach
Row 4 → Row 2
Also extends the range of Chastise.

Spirit of Redemption
Also increases your total Spirit while alive, so it works before you die as well as after.

Spell Warding
5 Ranks → 3 Ranks, moved within Row 2

Removed: Holy Specialization, Healing Focus, Improved Prayer of Healing, and Lightwell, which is now baseline

Shadow

Vampiric Touch
Row 5, 2 Ranks: replaces Improved Vampiric Embrace
Increases the healing from Vampiric Embrace, and makes it return mana to your whole party equal to a share of your Shadow damage. Shadow's answer to raid mana.

Shadow Weaving
Reworked. Your Shadow spells grant you a stacking Shadow Weaving buff, and your spells then apply a vulnerability scaled by how many stacks you hold.

Spirit Tap
Also procs from a Mind Blast critical strike, not only from killing blows, so it works in a raid.

Improved Fade
Row 4 → Row 3
Also reduces the threat returned to you when Fade ends.

Improved Mana Burn
Moved out of Discipline into Shadow.

Shadow Reach
3 Ranks → 2 Ranks

Improved Mind Blast and Blackout
Repositioned: Improved Mind Blast moves up to Row 1, Blackout down to Row 2.
